Water Purification Systems
Water
purification systems have grown in popularity due to the rising
cost of bottled water.
The need for cleaner and purer water, not to mention the need
for home water purification systems was virtually unthinkable just
25 years ago. But much has changed in the past 25 years.
The public has become
increasingly educated on the evils and hypocrisy of fluoridation as
well as on the importance of clean water for our
health.
In truth, clean, pure water is one of the most important
things you can do to promote good health.
That is why I use personal water purification systems in
our home.
Importance of Water
Fluoridation Facts
It may seem odd to include a page on home water purification
systems on this site, but I contend that the cleanliness of our
water is one of the most
important aspects of good health.
We can live for days on no food, even go months, even years in
extreme cases with very little good nourishment, but that is not
true with water. Water
is the most vital nutrient in the world. According to
Jeffrey Utz., M.D., a full 55% to 60% of our body is water.
According to one source:
"Water is essential nutrient that is involved in
every function of the body. It helps transport nutrients and waste
products in and out of cells. It is necessary for all digestive,
absorption, circulatory, and excretory functions, as well as for
the utilization of the water-soluble vitamins. It is also needed
for the maintenance of proper body temperature."
Why should you consider the importance of home water purification
systems? Because most of the water you drink is unclean and because
your body needs clean water more than you realize. In fact, I can
answer that question with just two words: Fluoride and chlorine. First, let's talk
about fluoride.
Fluoride
While we only drink 1% of our water (most is used for laundry,
washing, and irrigation), that 1% has come under attack naturally
and through conniving, malicious profit-barons who care nothing for
your health but only that they make money.
Yes, we're talking about fluoridation. While our water can
become tainted naturally through cryptosporidium, giardia, and
unnaturally by pesticides, chemicals, lead and even gasoline,
fluoridation is one of
the most clever lies ever forced on the American public.
In Europe, fluoridation was stopped in many countries recently once
its effects were understood. According to Herbal
Legacy...
- Federal Republic of Germany (fluoride was introduced in 1952,
stopped in 1971)
- Sweden (introduced 1952, stopped 1971)
- Netherlands (introduced 1953, stopped 1976)
- Czechoslovakia (introduced 1958, stopped 1988/90)
- German Democratic Republic (introduced 1959, stopped 1990
(Spremberg 1993) Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (introduced
1960, stopped 1990)
- Finland (introduced 1959, stopped 1993)
- Outside Europe: Japan (introduced 1952, stopped 1972)
According to that site, "The reason for these cessation's of
water fluoridation was not a political one, but the consequence of
scientific discussion of its effectiveness and side effects."
I don't doubt it. What about here in the US?
More and more cities are voting in favor of discontinuing the
fluoridation of their water supplies. The following areas of the
US, Canada, and even Australia have also discontinued fluoridation,
voting its termination. You can see for yourself by clicking here.
While it's beyond the scope of this web page, perhaps it's a
good time to explain why fluoridation is so bad. According to Dr.
Harvey Diamond and his wife Marilyn in their book Fit for Life
II, which you can get at Amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com or at
your local library, fluoridation "represents the most
flagrant kind of abuse against an innocent public by commercial big
business interests." Let's quote from their book
directly, editing for emphasis certain parts to show you how
fluoridation came about and why. The "how" may surprise you.
"In 1945...the biggest aluminum manufacturing plant
in the US realized that millions of pounds of aluminum were going
to waste during processing. This waste was in the form of aluminum
filing tailings, an extremely fine dust separated from the aluminum
during processing. Company executives figured out that if they
could sell this waste at even the minuscule price of one-and-a-half
cents a pound, they would read a handsome $15 million each
year...It was discovered that the water in Hereford, Texas, had a
high content of calcium fluoride in its natural state...which
seemed to assist in making teeth strong. So the aluminum trust
decided arbitrarily to call the tailings dust 'sodium fluoride' and
then sell all the cities in the US on adding it to their municipal
water supplies. Public enthusiasm for a tooth decay preventative
resulted in logic and reason being overshadowed by hasty,
unsubstantiated tests and claims based on those inadequate tests.
The powerful aluminum industry put its resources behind overriding
opposition to their grand plan to make a profit on their problem
child, highly toxic aluminum wastes. The argument promoting
fluoridation was based on tests conducted in two cities in New York
State, Kingston and Newburgh. The tests conducted there in the
1940s are still used today to justify fluoridation. The results,
as reported by the aluminum trust were that 817 children
tested in Newburgh, the fluoridated city, had 60 percent fewer
cavities tan the 711 children tested and living in Kingston, the
unfluoridated city.... The facts are these...what industry
researchers did was take a fraction of the children from each city
and check their teeth. They used children from Newburgh who did not
have many dental problems and children from Kingston who did. That
way it looked as if the fluoridated city had far superior results
with fluoridated water. A preliminary survey by the United States
Public Health Service showed that fluoridation was causing a
lot more tooth decay than pure water...[Bottom line?] In
four years, the record indicated that fluoridation caused
50% more tooth troubles than nonfluoridation."
That was how the myth
of sodium fluoridation was started. It is nothing more
than a lie, a scheme to sell you a known poison that's even used in
rat poison. In fact, according to Dr. Dean Burke, former chief
biochemist at the National Cancer Institute, more than 50,000 Americans a year
are dying of cancer caused by fluoridated drinking water...We've
now had time to look at fluoridation and see its effects on human
health and we know it's a killer"
Any institution that supports fluoridation is guilty of mass
murder." Dr. Burke, incidentally, used those words at a EPA hearing
on June 18, 1985.
Chlorine
Let's talk briefly about chlorine. Did you know
that chlorine is also added to your drinking water in many parts of
the US? Just chlorine of itself is sufficient reason to consider
home water purification systems. Listen to Dr. Diamond's comments
on Chlorine,
"Chlorine combined with animal fats in the diet,
results in a chemical union of the chlorine and fat into a sticky
paste-like substance. This stuff adheres to arterial walls, thus
causing atherosclerosis -- heart disease, the biggest killer in the
country."
Dr. Diamond wrote those words around 1986. Guess what is the #1
killer in America today? Is it high taxes, no. War, no. AIDS? No.
Cancer perhaps? Wrong again -- it's heart
disease. Is there a link? We believe it's part of the
problem, yes. Chlorine is added to water supplies to ostensibly
kill unwanted bacteria, which makes sense as it was used in World
War I as a gas to kill people. It is a poison that harms every area of your body's
health. It damages blood vessels, promotes heart disease, helps to
incite cancerous growth, and harms our liver and kidneys. Think
these are strong words? Think I'm exaggerating? Read some of the
info on this link and your blood will chill. Dr. Patrick
Flanagan in his book, Elixir of The Ageless, says,
"Drinking tap water is a slow form of suicide,
today's tap water is yesterday's toilet water, too thin to plow and
too thick to drink. Chemicals (chlorine and fluorides) used to
treat water are positive charged cationic electrolytes that are
potentially destructive to the colloidal balance when ingested into
the human system. As one result, people die........inch by inch,
not really knowing what is wrong!"
So what can we do about it? Our options are bottled water and/or
home water purification systems. In my
opinion, everyone needs personal water purification
systems. Don't let the term "system" make you think it
needs to be difficult or expensive. It need not be. I drink bottled
water occasionally but we are disturbed by reports that bottled
water has no restrictions or governmental regulatory requirements
on it! Nevertheless, bottled water sales exceeded $8.3
billion in 2003 alone and it's growing.
Bottled water isn't always pure. I assume that it is as the
advertising says it is. FDA regulations only require bottled water
to be as good as tap water! However, in a small study of 68 bottles
of mineral water from Europe, there was contamination with bacteria
and fungi, so says Rocus Klont, a researcher from the University
Medical Center Nijmegen in Mijmegen, Netherlands. I mentioned the
FDA.
Here is what they say regarding the purity of bottled water,
"Companies that market
bottled water as being safer than tap water are defrauding the
American public." Are there any federal regulations
regarding bottled water at all, you may ask? Yes, but there's a
loophole which bottled water companies exploit: Unless the bottled water is transported across state
lines, there are no federal regulations that govern its
quality.
In a report in March 1999 by the Natural Resources Defense Council
(NRDC) entitled Bottled Water, Pure Drink or Pure Hype?",
this report says as much as 40% of all bottled water comes from
city water systems -- just like tap water! The report also
concludes that 60 to 70% of all bottled water is exempt from FDA
requirements as it's bottled and sold within the same
state.
If bottled water isn't cleaner, than where can one get clean
water? I believe in home water purification systems. Personal water
purification systems can clean all your water in your home, but
they are expensive.
Home Water Purification Systems
Water Purification Systems Recommendation
After testing a number of home water purification
systems, I decided upon one that I believe is the best on the
market today. This company is based in Texas and is well-acclaimed
for their products. It's not just our opinion. The well-respected
Consumers Digest voted it "Best Buy" in 2003, 2004, and
2005.
This company's shower filter product was voted the Product of
The Year by Cosmetology Today Magazine.
I also like this water purifying product company as they are very
inexpensive compared to many other home water purification systems
on the market.
Plus, they offer a lifetime warranty against
defects or damage. In addition, their website also offers a lot of
good information on the need for healthy water and why you should
be aware of it.
FINAL WORD:
This Water Purification Systems web page is one of the longer pages
found throughout this website.
Thank you for getting this far. When I first started researching
and writing this page, I thought to myself, "Some may find it odd
to find a web page dedicated to healthy water as this is a website
about nutritional supplements."
Yet, I really believe that in many ways, this may be the most important web page
we ever write. The importance of drinking clean, healthy
water cannot be understated.
It is absolutely vital to good health and even life. Now you can
perhaps see why we felt so strongly about adding this page to our
site.
I hope this Water Purification Systems web page has been useful to
you.
Yours in health,
