Menopause diet pills have gained in popularity recently as many women seek them to help in weight maintenance while going through the menopause stage.

Some companies with an ear ever to the ground for changes in the market, have sought to capitalize on this trend by offering a magic menopause diet pill as many women mistakenly think the common bloatedness that often accrues during menopause is weight gain.

According to David Edelberg, M.D., during menopause many changes come upon a woman including, sleep disturbances, mood swings, night sweats, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and yes weight changes.

However, it is our considered opinion that diet pills for menopause are simply unnecessary. There are better ways than opting for a quick fix with menopause diet pills that don't work, are synthetic, with only at best 10% of the menopause diet pills even assimilated.

In our society, we've been weaned to want a quick fix yet that is not the best approach.

Indeed, many pills can be effective for a wide range of issues, but they often treat the symptoms not the cause.

Let's go deeper into the issue. In truth, there are really no diet pills for menopause specifically.

There are only diet pills. And even then, we don't recommend you waste your hard-earned money buying them. While it is beyond the scope of this web page, losing weight is relatively simple: reduce caloric intake, exercise consistently aerobically (weight train if you can), eat whole, unprocessed foods as much as possible and you will lose weight.

Yes, some will lose faster than others as everyone has a different body type with different biological predispositions, but that is the general formula that will work.

This is not to say that there are products out there in the marketplace that aren't viable for there are some products that do work. However, for a woman going through "the change," doctors in general recommend such women avoid taking such supplementation.

As a general rule, please consult with your doctor before ever taking any kind of supplementation -- especially any menopause diet pills or weight loss products in general during menopause.

Menopause Diet Pills

Let us give some general recommendations or advice on what you should do and what you should avoid during menopause. Menopause usually occurs for women in their late 40s and early 50s. As a general rule, doctors recommend women going through menopause should avoid stimulants including various caffeine products including but not limited to coffee, tea, and some soft drinks. Generally, doctors also recommend the menopausal women avoid alcohol as well.

A woman going through menopause has different needs although certainly there are common factors.

Menopause diet pills aren't one of them. Many doctors, however, recommend Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). While it is up to you, we discourage it as there are better alternatives.

Our recommendation is that you don't take diet pills for menopause. Eat a healthy diet rich in vegetables and fruits, avoid processed foods, exercise at least aerobically, and take a good multivitamin. That will help you to avoid some of the inevitable weight gain that can happen during menopause.

Diet pills for menopause, however, is nothing but a short term fix that promises much but gives little in return.
