Fish Oil Supplements -- Do They
Lower Cholesterol?
Lowering Cholesterol Isn't As
Complicated As Many Make It To Be
There
is a lot of information out there on fish oil
supplements. Do they lower cholesterol?
Can they help reduce cholesterol and
triglycerides? Some actually say it doesn't. Well, clinical,
scientific studies say they do. Check out this one here. It's very illuminating.
What is interesting among other things with that
University of Pennslyvania study was this comment by David Becker,
M.D., a Chestnut Hill Hospital and University of Pennsylvania
Health System cardiologist, "Our study was designed to test a
comprehensive and holistic approach to lipid lowering. These
results are intriguing and show a potential benefit of an
alternative, or naturopathic, approach to a common medical
condition."
The study tested fish oil against statin
cholesterol drugs and found better results in lowering cholesterol
with the fish oil.
This is important as fish oil is much, much cheaper
than cholesterol drugs like Zocor and Lipitor.
Of all the nutritional supplements on the market
today, fish oil is probably the most affordable. For less than $17
or $18 dollars, you can get a month's supply.
Its lowering cholesterol capability is not its only
health benefit. Some core fish oil health benefits include:
- Improved heart health by lowering cholesterol and triglyceride
levels
- Raises good HDL the good cholesterol
- Significantly reduces overall blood pressure levels
- Improves autoimmune diseases and arthritis
- Improves mental health issues such as depression
- Reduces triglycerides and cholesterol
- Reduces risk of blood clots and by extension strokes
- Reduces inflammation
- Alleviates autoimmune diseases
- Helps eczema, migraines and even colitis
- Prevents toxemia
- Supports eye, joint and brain function and health
Furthermore, there is much evidence, as alluded, from several
clinical studies that strongly suggest amounts of DHA and EPA in
the form of fish or fish oil supplements lowers triglycerides and
significantly slows the buildup of atherosclerotic plaques,
which is essentially hardening of the arteries.
It helps reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes and helps
correct dangerously abnormal heart rhythms.
Side Effects of Fish Oil
Scientific studies also show that high doses of fish oil DHA and
EPA may have harmful effects, such as an increased risk of
bleeding. There is also a nasty burp of fish oil that accompanies
the use of fish oil supplements that many people find
unlikable.
Probably the most significant side effect
is not endemic to the fish oil itself. Many fish oil tablet
manufacturers product shoddy product and to not molecularly distill
their fish oil.
Fish oil gleaned from the north Atlantic especially has been
noted for this. Environmental contamination with methylmercury
needs has happened.
Fish Oil Supplements Recommendation
Cayenne pepper is very inexpensive. It is more powerful than
fish oil and can not only nourish your heart while lowering your
cholesterol but it will emulsify built-up plaque on your arteries
at rapid pace.
That said, a multi-pronged attack incorporation diet, exercise,
herbs like cayenne pepper and garlic and a good cholesterol
lowering supplement, and fish oil supplements can dramatically
influence your heart health as well as lowering cholesterol
I have been using fish oil supplements from the same
company for four years. This recommendation is not given
lightly.
If you're looking for an inexpensive, omega 3 fish oil
supplement that is high in DHA, is molecularly distilled
and is made of emulated pharmaceutical grade-like quality fish
oil, I recommend this Fish Oil Supplement, a scientifically
formulated containing fish oil esters, Omega 3 Fatty Acids, DHA,
EPA, and even Vitamin E.
Their fish oil tablets are made from the hoki fish found off the
pristine New Zealand waters.
This company also offers only cGMP compliant,
pharmaceutical grade-like fish oil. I've added omega 3 fish
oil supplements to my supplement regime and can attest to its
benefits.
I hope this webpage on fish oil supplements has
been useful to you.
